Our late grand mother loves flowers so much. I can still remember the way she took care of her flowery plants, watering them almost everyday and weeding them from time to time. But the most fascinating thing she did was talking to them! As a kid, I can’t understand why she was doing it, until one day, she told me, “you have to talk to the plants, tell them how beautiful they are“, “thank them for the beautiful flowers“. Plants are like humans too, they loved to be appreciated. π
Today, while on our way to have breakfast, I can’t help but took some photos of the flowers we saw on our way. And I remember what Lola always tells me, “appreciate the flowers“, weather how small or big they are.
Hi Lola, this flower reminds me of you. You call them “saging-saging”. πA flower’s appeal is in its contradictions β so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect. ~Terri GuillemetsTo be overcome by the fragrance of flowers is a delectable form of defeat. ~Beverly NicholsLet us dance in the sun, wearing wild flowers in our hair… ~Susan Polis ShutzThe flower that follows the sun does so even in cloudy days. ~Robert LeightonI like to think a flower opens itself to outgrow its plantedness. That it yearns to be carried away. ~Author UnknownI yearn for flowers that bend with the wind and rain. ~Tso SsuFlowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul. ~ Luther BurbankYou can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming. ~ Pablo NerudaLet a hundred flowers bloom. ~ Mao ZedongStretching his hand up to reach the stars, too often man forgets the flowers at his feet. ~ Jeremy Bentham
Hi Lola, I may not inherit your “green thumb”, but I’m pretty sure I’ve inherited they way you love and appreciates the flowers. π
